Khundongbam Brojendro Ningshing Mana
Instituted by Writers’ Forum, Imphal in memory of Late Khundongbam Brojendro, a distinguished playwright of Manipur, the Khundongbam Brojendro Ningshing Mana was established under the aegis of Khundongbam Raina (Leina) and his sons to encourage dramatic literature and recognize outstanding contributions to the field of drama.
Khundongbam Brojendro was born on 18 January 1946 to Khundongbam Itocha and Angom Ningol Ibechaobi and passed away on 13 January 2007. The award is presented every three years on 13 January, alternately recognizing a lifetime contribution to dramatic literature and an outstanding book of drama. The award carries a cash prize, a memento, and a shawl. Since 2023, the cash award has been increased to ₹30,000.
