Literary Recognition & National Engagement

Over the years, the Writers’ Forum, Imphal has earned recognition for its contributions toward the promotion, preservation, and development of Manipuri literature and culture through publications, literary activities, and collaborative initiatives.

Sahitya Akademi Recognition

The Writers’ Forum, Imphal received official recognition from the Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi on 5 August 1996, marking a significant milestone in the literary journey of the organization.

The recognition acknowledged the Forum’s consistent efforts toward literary publication, cultural preservation, translation activities, literary exchange, and the advancement of Manipuri language and literature.

Today, the Writers’ Forum, Imphal stands among the recognized literary organizations contributing actively to the literary and cultural landscape of Manipur and India.

Institutional Collaborations

The organization has collaborated with several national and regional institutions in organizing seminars, translation workshops, literary festivals, and cultural programmes. These collaborations have helped create meaningful literary exchange and broader cultural engagement.

Major collaborative initiatives have been undertaken with institutions such as:
