Foundation of the Forum

The foundation meeting of Writers’ Forum, Imphal was held on 3 September 1988 under the chairmanship of renowned writer Km. T. Thoibi Devi. At a time when many writers struggled to publish their works due to limited resources and financial constraints, the founding members resolved to establish an organization dedicated to literary promotion, publication, cultural preservation, and creative expression. Their vision laid the foundation for what would become one of Manipur’s most respected literary institutions.
