In celebration of the 39th Foundation Day of Writers’ Forum, Imphal (WFI), the Writers’ Forum, Imphal, in collaboration with the Manipur State Kala Akademi, proudly announces two prestigious State Level Competitions for school students across Manipur. These literary events are designed to inspire young minds, promote a deeper appreciation of the Manipuri language and literature, and encourage students to explore the rich heritage of Manipuri poetry while showcasing their knowledge, creativity, and talent.
As one of the five literary organisations recognised by the Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, Writers’ Forum, Imphal continues its commitment to promoting Manipuri literature among the younger generation.
State Level Written Quiz Competition
The State Level Written Quiz Competition is open to students of Higher Secondary Schools (Classes XI & XII).
Competition Topics
- MIL Manipuri Textbook (Classes XI & XII)
- General Knowledge on Manipuri Literature
Eligibility
- Only students of Classes XI & XII are eligible.
- Each Higher Secondary School may nominate three (3) students.

The official nomination form must be completed and submitted on or before the closing date.
State Level Manipuri Recitation Competition
The State Level Recitation Competition is open to students of High Schools (Classes IX & X).
Participants may recite any one of the prescribed poems by the eminent Manipuri poets:
- Laishram Samarendra
- Elangbam Sonamani
Eligibility
- Only students of Classes IX & X are eligible.
- Each school may nominate two (2) students.
- One Teacher Guide should accompany the participants.
