Imphal, 28 June 2026: Writers’ Forum, Imphal marked another milestone in its literary journey with the release of its 265th book, Imagi Shalungangba Phanek (Warimacha), a Manipuri short story collection authored by Ningthoukhongjam Ranjana. The function was held at the DIPR Auditorium, Imphal, on 28 June 2026 at 2:00 PM.
The event brought together writers, scholars, literary enthusiasts, and members of the cultural community to celebrate the publication of another valuable contribution to Manipuri literature.
The book was formally released by Irungbam Basanta, President of Writers’ Forum, Imphal, in the presence of Dilip Mayengbam, Vice President of the Forum; the author, Ningthoukhongjam Ranjana; and M. Notilal, Secretary of the Forum.
During the programme, Dr. Lotongbam Sanajaoba Meetei, Assistant Professor, G.P. Women’s College, D.M. University, presented a critical appreciation of the short stories of Kumari Thoibi Devi. Ayekpam Shyam and Rajkumari Hemabati also presented readings from Imagi Shalungangba Phanek, adding a literary dimension to the event.
Alongside the book release, Writers’ Forum, Imphal officially relaunched its website, writersforumimphal.com, marking another important step towards strengthening its digital presence. The redesigned website provides a modern, responsive platform where readers, researchers, and literary enthusiasts can access information about the organization, its books, the quarterly literary journal Sahityagi Pao, literary events, research activities, and other initiatives.
The website was designed and developed by Mitrang Technologies, continuing its long-standing association with Writers’ Forum, Imphal. Mitrang Technologies originally designed and launched the forum’s first official website on 3 September 2014 and has now completed its digital revival with a modern, responsive redesign in 2026.
The relaunch reflects the forum’s commitment to preserving and promoting Manipuri literature while embracing digital technology to reach a wider audience.
The event concluded with appreciation for the author, distinguished guests, and everyone who has continuously supported the literary movement in Manipur. The publication of Imagi Shalungangba Phanek and the relaunch of the official website together represent another milestone in Writers’ Forum, Imphal’s ongoing mission to promote literature, scholarship, and creative expression.
