Imphal, September 3, 2025 — Writers’ Forum Imphal celebrated its 38th Foundation Day at the Manipur Hindi Parishad Hall, Old Assembly Road, Imphal. The event was organized by Writers’ Forum Imphal in association with the Manipur State Kala Akademi (MSKA), Imphal.
The celebration was attended by distinguished guests including Sunanda Thokchom, Secretary of MSKA, Imphal; Keisham Priyokumar, President of Writers’ Forum Imphal; and I. Basanta Singh, Vice President of Writers’ Forum Imphal.
As part of the observance, members paid homage and offered floral tributes to the departed members of the forum, remembering their invaluable contributions to the literary community.
A special felicitation ceremony was held to honor the forum’s founding members:

- Lamabam Birmani
- Yumlembam Ibomcha
- R.K. Bhubonsana
- Saratchand Thiyam
Nine recipients of various literary awards were also recognized for their achievements and contributions to literature.
The programme featured a poetry recitation session and a written quiz competition for children, encouraging literary engagement among younger generations.
A highlight of the event was the release of the 129th edition of Sahityagi Pao, the forum’s literary publication, marking another milestone in its continued commitment to promoting literature and creative expression in Manipur.
The Foundation Day celebration reaffirmed the forum’s dedication to nurturing literary talent, preserving cultural heritage, and fostering a vibrant literary community.
